Chamber Music Festival Brings Classical Music to Swannanoa

chamber music quartetNow in its 46th season, Warren Wilson College’s Swannanoa Chamber Music Festival celebrates the timeless beauty of chamber music for all those who love to play and listen. This year’s festival brings five concerts to the College’s Kittredge Theatre. Additional performances take place in Waynesville and Greenville, SC.

“Gold medal winners of international competitions, Grammy Award-nominated and winning string quartets, and renowned wind soloists join forces to bring their talents to these audiences,” said Inessa Zaretsky, artistic director. “It’s beautiful chamber music from artists who live, rehearse and perform some of the greatest chamber music ever written.” The 2016 festival features numerous accomplished solo musicians, along with three premiere quartets — Enso String Quartet, Jasper String Quartet and Tesla String Quartet.

The Kittredge Theatre performances will take place on Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., June 25, July 2, July 9, July 16 and July 23. Each show is a unique live performance, featuring a variety of classical pieces. Tickets are $25 for a single performance, or $100 for all 5. Students under 25 are admitted free with a student ID.
