The 2020 Census is coming, and it’s vitally important that all residents are counted. Money distributed through many government programs depends on an accurate population count.
You can help ensure that our community is counted by working for the 2020 Census. The Census Bureau is currently hiring for a variety of temporary part-time positions that pay $13 – $14 per hour, plus mileage at 58 cents per mile. They offer training, a flexible schedule, and weekly pay. To apply, you must be 18 years old and a U.S. citizen, and you must have a reliable vehicle, email account and valid social security card.
If you’d like to learn more, a census recruiter will be at the Swannanoa Library (101 West Charleston Ave.) from 4 – 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, to talk about available opportunities and help you apply. Information is also available online at www.2020census.gov/jobs.
