The Black Mountain-Swannanoa Valley Endowment Fund will hold a grant information session at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 (snow date: Feb. 2), in the Education Room at the Black Mountain Library, 105 N. Dougherty St.
The session is free and open to all Swannanoa Valley nonprofits interested in applying for a grant during the endowment fund’s spring grant cycle. BMSVEF representatives will explain the grant criteria and application process, and give tips on effective grant writing.
The spring grants will range in size from $2,500-$10,000 and will focus on projects and programs relating to health and wellness, education, cultural and natural resources, and people in need. The deadline to apply is March 1.
The Black Mountain-Swannanoa Valley Endowment Fund is an affiliate of The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina. It was established in 1999 by a group of local residents as a permanently endowed fund that serves as a resource for the entire Swannanoa Valley.
