The Swannanoa Valley Museum is offering free admission for everyone on their 2014 Opening Day, Saturday, April 12. In addition to their permanent collection of exhibits about the rich history of the Swannanoa Valley, the museum will have a “soft-opening” for new exhibits on African American History and Culture, Valley Sports Heroes, Black Mountain’s Sister City, Krasnaya Polyana (which was the host location for snow events at the 2014 Winter Olympics!), and Moonshining.
The museum is located at 223 W. State Street in Black Mountain, and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For info, call 669-9566.
