Special Events to Be Held at Swannanoa Habitat Community
Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity is turning 30 years old, and the Swannanoa community is invited to join in the celebration. On Saturday, September 7, Habitat will raise the wall on the 30th Anniversary House, located in the Habitat community on Dennis Street in Swannanoa’s Beacon Village. (This also happens to be the 10,000th Habitat house built in North Carolina!) The festivities will begin with a potluck breakfast at 9:00 a.m. to kick off Circle of Faith, a cul-de-sac of homes in Habitat’s Swannanoa neighborhood honoring Habitat’s longstanding faith partners. The wall-raising at the 30th Anniversary House will follow at 9:30 a.m. Bring a lawn chair and your favorite breakfast dish to share.
From there, you can head to the Habitat ReStore at 31 Meadow Road in Asheville, where an uprecedented 30% off storewide sale will be going on all day. And then it’s just a hop, skip and jump to Habitat’s 31-33 Meadow Road campus, where the anniversary celebration will include free food, beer, music, games, how-to clinics and much more!
