There will be an informational meeting June 3, Tuesday at 5:30 at
The
Bee Tree Fire Dept. on Bee Tree Rd. in Swannanoa to learn more
about
not-for-profit and government sponsored historic preservation
of
farmlands, buildings, and other properties. Speakers will be
a
Restoration Specialist from the State Historic Preservation Office
and
the Southwest Regional Director of Preservation North Carolina.
On
the agenda are how historic preservation works, advantages to
property owners
(tax breaks, etc.), and examples of what other NC
citizens are doing to take
advantage of these opportunities.
The meeting is open to the public and
sponsored by Swannanoa Pride
Community Coalition, Revitalization &
Commercial Development Task
Force.
