According to a recent article in the Black Mountain News, the historic Swannanoa High School building may get some major renovations in the not-too-distant future. The article reports that Buncombe County officials are considering a $12 million renovation to the school, which is now home to Community High School, an alternative school for students from throughout the county. The School Board will vote on the expenditure in June. If approved, the renovations, including a new roof and other infrastructure improvements, could start in 2018.
