Groundbreaking Takes Place at East Haven Affordable Apartment Complex

by FANS Admin

East Haven Apts Groundbreaking

It was a beautiful day for the groundbreaking ceremony at East Haven on Monday, June 29, with blue skies framing the mountain views that future residents will enjoy. Representatives from Mountain Housing Opportunities (MHO), and other organizations involved in the affordable housing project, gathered with local residents and government officials to celebrate the start of construction on this new 95-unit apartment complex near the corner of US 70 and Riverwood Road in Swannanoa.

Please help spread the word about this new affordable housing opportunity that will be available in Swannanoa in the summer or fall of 2020. Those interested in applying for apartments should call MHO at 828-254-4030 to have their names placed on the East Haven list. This list is not for the apartment units themselves, but for those waiting to apply. There’s no obligation, but getting your name on the list early is a definite advantage, as it will affect the order in which applications are reviewed. So ACT NOW to secure your place in line!

The 95-unit East Haven apartment complex will offer 1, 2 and 3-bedroom units in a variety of floor plans. Rents are expected to be approximately $260 – $700 per month, depending on family size and income. East Haven will be open to residents whose annual household incomes are at, or below, 60 percent of the county’s median income.
