Restaurants are among the businesses hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, and Swannanoa has not been immune from the economic impact. Native Kitchen in Beacon Village closed permanently, and many other local favorites have been forced to adapt, with expanded carryout and curbside service, outdoor dining, limited indoor seating, adjusted hours, and reduced staff.
Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa (FANS) encourages Swannanoa neighbors to support our local restaurants as you’re able, so that we can continue to enjoy the great food and sense of community they provide long after COVID is a distant memory. Here is a brief summary of Swannanoa restaurants, cafés, and fast food franchises, with the services each provides while under COVID precautions:
2299 US Highway 70 (inside Ingles), (828) 668-0541; 7 a.m. – 9 p.m., seven days a week. Limited indoor and outdoor seating; Carryout
2344 US Highway 70, (828) 686-7400
8 a.m. – 10 p.m., Seven days a week
Indoor seating; Carryout; Curbside service with app.
Last but not least, another local favorite, The Breakfast Shoppe, is relocating from the corner of US 70 and Patton Cove Road to 2077 US 70 (the former location of El Lemon Mexican Restaurant). The Breakfast Shoppe reopening has been delayed by COVID, but owner Nancy Allen hopes to be serving delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners there soon.
