
Local historian, Bill Alexander, leads a group on a tour of “Old Town” Swannanoa, the once-thriving historic Swannanoa business district, located just west of the former Beacon mill site. The tour took place on Saturday, September 28, and was sponsored by the Swannanoa Valley Museum.

Moviegoers gathered in Grovemont Square, adjacent to the Swannanoa Library, to enjoy an outdoor screening of ‘The Dark Crystal’ on Friday, September 20. The Cinema on the Square outdoor movie series is sponsored by Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa (FANS), the Swannanoa Community Council, and the Friends of the Swannanoa Library.

You never know what you’ll find at the Swannanoa Community Yard Sale. This young man scored a drum set at the most recent sale, held in the Ingles parking lot on Saturday, October 5. The Swannanoa Community Yard Sale is sponsored by Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa (FANS), and takes place twice each year, in the spring and fall.
