Fall in the Swannanoa Valley was brief but breathtaking this year, as this photo of the fields at Warren Wilson College attests. Photo courtesy of Jeff Gresko.

The Swannanoa Community Garden now boasts a new pavilion, thanks to some very talented and dedicated volunteers. Construction of the pavilion was made possible by a generous grant from the Black Mountain – Swannanoa Valley Endowment Fund. The pavilion will be used for events, classroom instruction, and a gathering spot for garden volunteers. The Swannanoa Community Garden is sponsored by Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa (FANS), and all produce grown in the garden is donated to our neighbors in need.
