The Cliffs Communities Files Lawsuit Alleging Fraud

The Cliffs at High Carolina, the 3,000 acre development straddling the mountains between Swannanoa and Fairview, is once again in the news.  A lawsuit has been filed by The Cliffs Communities, the development company that owns High Carolina.  The lawsuit claims that The Cliffs was defrauded in a debt transaction that resulted in a Dallas company gaining control of significant amounts of property in The Cliffs at High Carolina and The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.  To read the full Asheville Citizen-Times story about the lawsuit, click here.

Of the more than 1,000 potential lots at The Cliffs at High Carolina, only about 43 have been sold.    Work on the Tiger Woods golf course planned for the site has been temporarily put on hold.
