ArtSpace, a public charter school in Swannanoa, was heavily damaged this past Tuesday morning when heavy rains caused a bank near the school to collapse, flooding the building with mud and water. Extensive cleanup efforts – supported by school staff and teachers, community volunteers, and professional contractors – have been underway for several days, but much remains to be done. Below is a message from ArtSpace with information on how you can help:
Dear ArtSpace Supporter,
As you may know, ArtSpace suffered a disastrous flood on the morning of December 29, 2015. Though things could have been much worse, the losses were great.
The good news is that we have flood insurance. The bad news is that we are facing a $25,000 deductible to cover the costs and a much greater cost to implement a long term solution.
We are asking for your support as we look to recover our school and make sure that we don’t face another situation like this again. Please click the following link to support ArtSpace in the recovery effort:

We have had great support from our community and we thank you for all you have done for us in the past. Please share this link with your network and help us to make sure that ArtSpace continues to be “a national benchmark in educational excellence through integration of the arts.”
