Buncombe County Library System Feedback Sessions

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! Over the next several months, the County is holding a series of feedback sessions to get public input on future plans for the Buncombe County library system. A consultant hired by the County has proposed moving towards a “regional” library system, with larger facilities serving greater population areas. The consultant’s proposal includes a recommendation to close the Swannanoa and Black Mountain libraries, and construct a new, much larger library to serve both communities.
Residents can participate in any of the feedback sessions, but two of them will be held right here in the Swannanoa Valley:
  • >> The Black Mountain feedback session is scheduled for Tuesday, July 20, from 6:30 – 7:30 pm, at the Black Mountain Library; and
  • >> the Swannanoa feedback session will take place on Thursday, October 7, from 6:30 – 7:30 pm, at the Bee Tree Fire Station.
Please help spread the word, and come out to share your thoughts on the future of our library.
