Swannanoa Sweep Community Cleanup – Saturday, April 10

Swannanoa SweepThe annual Swannanoa Sweep Community Cleanup, sponsored by Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa (FANS), will take place on Saturday, April 10, from 9 a.m. – noon.
Last year’s Sweep was cancelled due to the pandemic, so there’s lots of extra trash to pick up along our roadways. Please come out and join your neighbors to help clean up our beautiful community. It’s a “feel good” way to spend your Saturday morning!
To make it easier to maintain social distance, volunteers will be sent out in small groups. Folks may also choose to volunteer with their family group or “pod.” Gloves, bags and vests will be provided; wear old clothes and sturdy shoes, and bring a mask.
Meet at 9 a.m. in the Ingles parking lot, just west of the former Bank of America building (2323 US Hwy. 70) to pick up supplies and form groups. Come for an hour, or two or three. Every litter bit helps!
For more info, contact Maureen Dillow at 828-713-8836 or mdillow2@bellsouth.net. Church, school, and other groups are welcome!
