Our newest Board member, Kay Wise-Denty, made her way to Swannanoa by a somewhat circuitous route. After living quite the nomadic life: born in Ohio, raised in California, attended UNC Chapel Hill, lived in Florida, then on the coasts of Georgia and Texas, Kay’s finally at home in the mountains, where she knew she belonged, and plans on staying. After receiving her B.A. in Communications and Theater Arts from Rollins College (while working full-time) she got out of the corporate world and went into massage therapy. She has been a licensed massage therapist for 25 years. Kay moved to Grovemont in July 2015 with her husband, Glynn, a retired middle school and high school band director. An enthusiastic supporter of performance arts, she loves theater, music, art, and dance. When they aren’t playing in their garden or exploring the Swannanoa Valley, they’re traveling with their furry kids, Sparky and Patchouli.
