Winter may not be done with us yet, but if the daffodils and crocuses are any indication, spring is just around the corner. And that means it’s time to start thinking about planting a garden so that you and your family can enjoy delicious home-grown vegetables this summer. Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa will once again sponsor a Community Garden this year. The garden is located at 105 Lanier Lane in the Grovemont neighborhood, on land graciously made available for this purpose by local resident Bill Alexander. Thank you, Bill!
Garden plots of 400 square feet are available for an annual fee of $30; 200 square foot plots are $18. These nominal fees help to defray the garden expenses, including water usage.
To reserve your space or get more information, please contact Garden Coordinator Sandy Drake at 581-9020 or sandyjean51@gmail.com, or visit the Swannanoa Community Garden on Facebook.
