Run, & Mile Fun Run

 

National star  Kat Williams   leads music line up  !!!

 

Exciting plans are well underway for
the 3rd Annual Mill Around the Village Festival in downtown
Swannanoa’s historic area for Sat., Oct. 3!
 
With new organizers
this year, the festival will extend into Beacon Mill Village streets for music,
craft demonstrations, local food, history tours, street performers, balloon
artists, jump rope and hoola hoop contests, raffles, chocolate factory tours,
and lots of old-fashioned fun! In conjunction with the Fire Department’s
50th Anniversary
, fighter recognitions, displays, and many extra
children’s events are planned. Added this year is a farmer’s market with
local fresh garden products and displays.

 

Also new are a
certified 5k Evening Run and a Mile Fun Run through Beacon Village
streets. The Owen Middle School Jazz Band, Tom Godleski & the
Buncombe Turnpike Band
, Laura Blackly & the Swayback Sisters,
Julia Ann & the Laurel Ridge Band, & the Asheville
Allemanders
will also be performing! Club & school groups are very
welcome!  Food and winter coat
donations will be taken for local organizations.

 

Fund raising
opportunities are allowed this year as are political
organizations
.  Expanded hours, a larger venue,
nationally recognized musician Kat
Williams
and many other exciting additions this year
will bring in more festival-goers! 
Businesses, organizations, performers, and sponsors are encouraged to
sign up early to participate as vendor application fees increase after
Sept. 1
