Mark your calendars now for the Swannanoa community’s first-ever outdoor movie series, coming to Grovemont Square (adjacent to the Swannanoa Library) this spring. Family-friendly movies will be shown at sundown on Fridays, April 21 and May 19. Bring a chair or blanket and arrive early to enjoy the pre-movie festivities that are currently in the planning stages. Pizza and other refreshments will be available for purchase before and during the show.
The “Cinema on the Square” movie series is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Swannanoa Library, Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa (FANS) and the Swannanoa Community Council. A committee is already hard at work, but they need your help choosing the movies! Grovemont Square is already the host venue for another popular outdoor event — the Groovin’ on Grovemont summer concert series that takes place each summer in July and August. The Square is a perfect location for family events, with beautiful mountain views, an adjacent playground, and a large grassy area for playing games and hanging out.
