Swannanoa’s third annual Mill Around the Village Festival will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2009, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., in the old downtown and Mill Village
areas of Swannanoa.  This year’s festival is being planned by the Mill
Around the Village Association, a newly-formed committee of community
volunteers.

The 2009 festival will be held in the streets of Swannanoa’s old downtown in conjunction with the Swannanoa Fire Department’s 50th anniversary celebration.  In addition to live music, food, and local history and information booths, the festival will include an expanded children’s area, more craft and vendor booths, and a 5k race and one mile Fun Run through upper Beacon Village.  The musical lineup will be headlined by Kat Williams, who will also serve as emcee for the day’s entertainment.

The
Mill Around the Village Association welcomes volunteers who are
interested in helping with the festival.  The planning committee meets
every Monday evening at 6 pm in the upstairs Event Hall at Beacon Pub, 204 Whitson Avenue, in Swannanoa.
