Does your house need a new coat of paint or some other improvement that you’ve been putting off due to these hard economic times? If so, Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity may be able to help. Habitat has just recently kicked off a new program called A Brush With Kindness that offers low-to-moderate income homeowners help with exterior home repairs and improvements. Participants make low monthly payments on a 0% interest short-term loan. Payments start as low as $25 a month and services include exterior painting and staining, minor exterior repairs, and landscape improvements. The program originally focused on residents of the Beacon Village area, but it’s just been expanded to include all residents of Swannanoa. If you’d like to learn more about A Brush With Kindness and find out whether you might be eligible, please click here to visit the Habitat website, or contact Family Selection Coordinator Byron Alday at 210-9370 or balday@ashevillehabitat.org.
