Swannanoa Pride Launches Community E-Newsletter

The Swannanoa Pride Community Coalition (SPCC) has launched an e-newsletter to bring information to the community about events in Swannanoa.  In addition to covering Swannanoa news and activities, the e-newsletter includes articles about Swannanoa’s fascinating history, people and places.  The newsletter is available to the community free of charge via email.  Among the regular features are “Swannanoa Stories,” about life in Swannanoa during the 1930s – 1970s, and “Swannanoa Spotlight,” which focuses on one of the many nonprofit organizations serving the Swannanoa community.  The most recent edition of the newsletter included a feature story about the history of Swannanoa’s schools, and articles about the Swannanoa River/US 70 greenway feasibility study, the new Swannanoa Community Garden, the Swannanoa VA Nursing Home, the Swannanoa Welcome Table, and recent improvements to Owen Park.   

The e-newsletter comes out every other month and is a great way to connect with the community, both past and present.  If you would like to be added to the newsletter distribution list, please send an email to spcc2006@bellsouth.net or call 686-4417.  Suggestions for newsletter content are always welcome, and long-time residents are encouraged to share their “Swannanoa Stories” for publication.
