The annual Swannanoa Sweep community cleanup scheduled for Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m. – noon, was postponed due to unusually cold and windy weather. With morning windchills in the low to mid-20s and winds gusting to 40 mph, the decision was made to spare our volunteers from trying to pick up windblown litter with their frostbitten hands!
Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa (FANS) is working to find an alternative date for the cleanup. As soon as a new date is set, we’ll send out an email and post the information on our website and Facebook page. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you can join us on the rescheduled date. And we hope the weather will be more cooperative!
