UPDATE: The Winter Gardening program has been RE-SCHEDULED for Tuesday, November 29th, at 6:30 pm at the Swannanoa Library.
Just because the winter months are coming doesn’t mean your garden can’t be beautiful. Come to the Swannanoa Library on November 15 at 6:30 pm to learn how you can create a landscape that’s visually appealing even during the dreariest winter months.
Ralph Coffey, a Buncombe County Master Gardener, will show ou how to design a garden based on winter interest, with an emphasis on plants that offer color and beauty in every season of the year. His powerpoint presentation will give examples of how to design the garden with evergreens and conifers, deciduous trees, grasses, shrubs, fruits and berries, and hardscape (including water and stone).
Ralph owns the 1889 WhiteGate Inn in Asheville where he has developed extensive, award-winning gardens over the past 13 years.
