Megan McCreary

Megan was born and raised in St. Louis, MO.  She went to Washington University in St. Louis, and got a Bachelor's in Architecture.  After graduation, she moved to New Orleans, where she worked as an architect, and came to love the culture of the city. She became heavily involved in a Mardi Gras krewe there, and worked on dozens of large events and public art projects. She and her partner Kelsey, and dogs Meiko and Ollie left New Orleans in 2020, and moved to Black Mountain.

After one year in Black Mountain, Megan and Kelsey bought a home off of Bee Tree Road, in Swannanoa.  For the last two years, Megan has spent nearly all of her free time working on the renovation of the house, and the landscaping of the yard. After two years of North Carolina gardening and landscaping, Megan decided to make the leap from Architecture to Landscape Architecture.  As part of that process, she enjoys learning as much as possible about plants, and even works part time at Painter's Nursery, in Old Fort. Whenever she's not in her backyard, she's probably cooking up a storm in her kitchen!  Megan's excited about continuing to get to know and becoming a meaningful contributor to her new community!
