Catch the Holiday Spirit at the Swannanoa Winterfest – Dec. 17, 3-8 p.m.!
The annual Swannanoa Winterfest will bring the sights and sounds of the season to Grovemont Square (adjacent to the Swannanoa Library, 101 West Charleston Ave.) on Saturday, December 17th, from 3 – 8 pm. Modeled on traditional European holiday markets, the Swannanoa Winterfest will feature a variety of artisans and vendors selling holiday-themed items. Delicious food and hot drinks will be available for purchase. Warm your hands over a fire while enjoying caroling, entertainment on the pavilion stage, festive holiday lights, and even a visit from Olaf the Snowman! This free event is brought to you by the Swannanoa Community Council, Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa (FANS) and Friends of the Swannanoa Library. For more info, call the Library at 828-250-6486, or visit www.GrovemontPark.org.
NOTE: There are still a few vendor spaces available. If you’re interested in being a Winterfest vendor, please contact Vendor Coordinator, Marco Rozenbroek, at 305-495-2666.

Swannanoa is a great place to live, and we want to let everyone know it,” said former FANS Board Chair, Katherine Cross. “We have a rich history, a beautiful environment, and engaged residents. Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa is dedicated to preserving and enhancing our bountiful assets, and we invite you to support and join us in this effort to preserve our rich heritage while planning for a bright future.”
We invite you to look at “Our Projects” (on navigation bar above) to see some of the great work that’s being done by our citizens — work that strengthens our community by giving residents the opportunity to make connections with their neighbors and work together cooperatively. Community members have given us many great ideas for new activities, including an outdoor movie series, Swannanoa history and storytelling events, and a community potluck.
We’re working for a strong and vibrant Swannanoa by encouraging active involvement, fostering community spirit, and honoring our unique history and natural heritage. And FANS invites YOU to join us in that mission.
Contact us if you want more information about FANS or to find out how you can participate in enhancing Valley cooperation, collaboration and community.
